Have you ever grown a DWARF BEAN variety in a shaded location or with poor direct sunlight? If yes, there's a chance you may have noticed the plant attempting to "climb" in search of the sun and you may have observed the plant growing more vertically

All beans were historically climbers and therefore even the bush bean varieties will attempt to grow upwards in search of sun if they are seriously handicapped in any way via sunlight deprivation. They will not grow like true climbing varieties but you may have observed this growth behaviour in poorly lit areas ✅

We have the string ready to start tying and training these CUCUMBERS up the trellis

They have just gone BANG 💥 with growth and flowering - be it mostly male flowers and a couple of female flowers

By training them upwards we free up some of the soil space in this garden bed to grow something else. Maybe an eggplant or perhaps fill it up with a bed of summer lettuces not sure yet 🤔
