Hmmm, PEACHES πŸ‘ πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹
.
This tree is growing in a ridiculously small pot
.
- 40 cm wide in diameter
.
- 30 cm of soil
.
It’s incredible to think a tree of this calibre can grow and thrive in such a hostile and restricted growing space and with literally a couple or so hours of direct morning sun and nothing after that. This year it’s been hit hard by an earwig infestation as well

The story of our RASPBERRY plant...

On the 6th of December, we posted a photo of our dying BLUEBERRY plant after been suspected of contracting a pathogenic fungal disease
.
The great news is that after tree surgery and diagnostic measures, we have managed to resuscitate the plant. Compare the health of these leaves with the photo posted on the 6th Dec
.
A) The plant was heavily pruned at the point of cut that showed a complete green colour on the stem tissue
.
B) The plant was sprayed with potassium bicarbonate to kill the fungal infestation but to also apply a protective and preventative layer to prevent new spores from germinating
.
C) The top layer of soil around the trunk was removed and disposed off because this contained the bark and decomposing bark where pathogenic spores reside and overwinter
.
D) A layer of acidic peat moss was worked into the top layer of the soil followed by a fresh layer of pine bark. Acidifying the soil is critical to the health of the plant because a wrong soil PH means that the two key disease-fighting minerals - silicon and sulphur are not used by the plant
.
E) After this we applied acidic fertiliser high in nitrogen to promote fast leafy growth. Since flowering has ended, the focus is now on growth and repairing damaged tissue
.
F) Every few weeks we apply a liquid seaweed solution rich in minerals and vitamins to build a strong immune system
