.
There are however two considerations we are wary of with BOK CHOY:
.
1) planting it too early in Autumn whilst temperatures can fluctuate especially in Melbourne. They are very sensitive to warm temperatures and can bolt quickly
.
2) The cabbage white caterpillar butterfly is still out and about in early/mid Autumn and our experience with this pest is that an entire seedling can be devoured overnight. We tend to wait for more consistent cooler days to arrive when butterfly activity drastically slows down

Beautiful CHILLIES 🌶
.
It’s been a long hard road for our chilli plants this year
.
1) We’ve had to transplant them to a new garden bed in the middle of a summer heat wave and they survived that
.
2) Then, they were aggressively attacked by marauding possums and they survived that too
.
It’s such s beautiful sight to see the CHILLIES grow back with such a vengeance after the setbacks and the good news is that this variety will be pumping out produce all year round and we are so glad we saved them. We are now reaping the rewards for patience 😍😍😍
.
One of the great virtues in gardening is patience and perseverance ✅

Does the canopy of your CITRUS tree look like this?
.
If yes, read below
.
These branches are called water sprouts and they can quickly ‘blanket’ your canopy reducing sunlight, air circulation and making pest control a difficult exercise
.
Although these branches will eventually bear fruit as secondary branches growing out of your scaffold branches, leaving too many of these vertical branches on the tree will suffocate the tree and negatively affect flowering/fruiting
.
Try and always shape your CITRUS trees in an open vase-shaped design so that the centre of the canopy is not too clogged up by a lot of overlapping and lateral branches as a result of unchecked water sprout branches left to grow
.
You can always allow a water sprout or two to grow inwards towards the centre of the canopy but the majority of side branches should be directed and trained to grow outwards rather than inwards to maximise sun exposure and better utilise the growing space ✅
