Our KALAMATA OLIVE trees are barely 3 years old but this season they have exploded onto the scene

Fruit and flowers develop on new seasons' growth and they form on the ends of the stems

Some flowers of OLIVE varieties are perfect and some are male-only. Although a lot of olive varieties are self-fertile, improved and prolific harvests are best achieved when olive trees are planted with a few neighbours of the same variety or planted with a compatible variety for cross-pollination. Not all olive trees are compatible with one another. Each olive tree has its favourite "partner" ✅

Our LEBANESE ZUCCHINIS are growing much quicker than the TROMBONCINOS (left in photo)

We don't think we will get a big harvest of ZUCCHINIS this year because we have planted them away from a full sun location (last year) to a mostly shaded location (this year)
.
It will however be an interesting experiment to see how much of an impact all-day sun has on the humble ZUCCHINI
