.
TIP:
.
Spring is a great time if you are interested to create more sage bushes for your garden
.
1) Take softwood cuttings from an established plant
.
2) Plant the cutting in a pot with good quality potting mix and cover the pot with a plastic bag or sheet. This acts as a warm insulator and maintains good humidity levels
.
3) Place the pot away from direct sun. A nice shady section under a tree is ideal
.
4) Keep the soil moist but not soaked in water. The protection from direct sunlight, moist soil and humid condition (inside the plastic bag) will fast track the establishment of new plants 😍
.
When you see new growth in the cuttings, you are ready to transplant into your garden to create a SAGE jungle 😂
.
Always take a few cuttings and pick the best one

Yummy 😋
.
We love green SNOW PEAS but this year we didn't plan them well (because of summer crop) and ended up haphazardly planting only 1 green variety plant compared to last year when we planted heaps
.
Oh well, you can still get a harvest from one plant 😂

This is a SPUR branch from an apple tree. They are responsible for the apples produced
.
Apple SPURS are short branches that develop on second year wood and remain there for a number of years. Every year, these spurs will repeatedly flower and fruit in the exact same location and must therefore never be pruned or accidentally cut during harvest time or you risk a significantly reduced harvest yield
.
When the tree is dormant, feel free to prune the tree but don't touch the SPURS. Pruning an apple tree should be centred around removing sucker branches, unproductive or dead wood but for whatever reason you are pruning (whether it be formative, overcrowding, canopy thinning etc) you need to:
.
- allow new SPURS to develop as the tree grows whilst preserving your existing SPURS. The will maximise your crop production ✅
